As a special needs family, there aren’t many opportunities for date nights outside of the house. Childcare for Hayden and a babysitter for our other two boys is a lot to coordinate, not to mention having the energy and funds to plan a date and leave the house can sometimes be just too much to handle!
A couple of years ago, we were gifted a Date Night In Box from a friend. It was such a fun treat! We have since been enjoying Date Night In Boxes tremendously as a fun, unique alternative to an “outside of the house” date. We set up a night that we dedicate to our Date Night In Box and we spend the evening reconnecting and using the guide in the box and their activities, games, treats, and even their custom playlist on Spotify that matches that month’s box.
Night In Boxes are also for KIDS! There are Kids Night In boxes that have beautifully crafted and well thought out activities for you to spend dedicated time with your kids. We find this really helpful in our life circumstance of having a special needs sibling and our other boys not always getting the quantity of time with us they desire; but we’re trying to be intentional about the quality of time they’re getting from us.
